Hi, Algot, Thanks for the thoughtful post on learning programming through Turtle geometry. Ever since discovering Mindstorms and Logo, I’ve been amazed that a few lines of code can lead to such complicated (even beautiful) designs. Good point about Python’s loops being different from Logo’s. Some days I’d prefer to just type “repeat(10)” or something. My Logo-Python path came full-circle last night. I was teaching a little girl to draw the designs in my book but since she’s a very slow typist we were using Scratch, which is just drag-and-drop Logo code. Best of luck, Peter Farrell

Thanks, “Ophelia”. While it is clear from the rest of the comment (edited out) that this was like most of the “traffic” the site gets: SPAM. Still, you are right. There is very little control available for the layout of the SiteBlog offered by my hosting company. I much prefer to blog with other tools which have a wider set of options.

Your page’s design looks crappy. You schould change it. Better design means a lot more conversions, faster load and greater confidence of visitors.

The theme is slightly tweaked. Most elements are fixed by the hosting company.

Kevin, The P2PU Webmaking 101 seems mostly a good way to help us along from scratch to getting a live site. Working the details of a full site certainly takes off after that. I’m working on lots of different ideas all at once. Everything is a work in progress. But, what fun it is!

AnSakoy, I think my hosting company (which provides the code for this blog) is using a Wordpress back end, but it isn’t a full Wordpress install. I have limited control over the layout, for example. That also means it may not actually integrate into the full Wordpress structure.
